I’m not particularly fond of tunnels, especially those with doves or bats flying around. On my cycling training route, I have to pass through four tunnels. Thankfully, each one is relatively short, and most importantly, I can see the end even before entering the tunnel. Similarly, in business, seeing light at the end of the tunnel is crucial. Knowing that you are moving in the right direction and towards a clear goal gives you the energy to keep going.
All too often, working on too many tasks without a clear end goal makes it hard to see positive outcomes. Without clear focus and priorities, every task can seem equally important, causing overwhelm, stress, and reduced productivity.
How to keep the light at the end of the tunnel on
- Define a crystal-clear goal: ensure that you know what you are working towards
- Break down your big goal into manageable priorities: divide your overarching goal into short-term, achievable objectives
- Assure priorities align with your goal: verify that every priority you set brings you closer to your goal
By following these steps, you can keep a clear focus and see progress, making it easier to see and reach the light at the end of the tunnel.
Biking through four small tunnels is doable, but don’t ask my to ride through the Mont Blanc.
Do you have a Mont Blanc-sized goal you need help overcoming?
